Fight Night at the Tank
Anaheim toppled the Sharks 2-1 in a fight filled affair in San Jose.
Scott Parker faced off against Garrett Burnett 3 times, once after an extended argument in the box. Yuri Moscevsky and Lance Ward also dropped the gloves [pictured above].
Sergei Fedorov did not suit up last night, but visit the photo gallery at Allducks.com to see him in a purple Ducks jersey.
[Thanks to Larry and Chu for the tickets].
Shark notes - preseason edition
- At the start of preseason, the Sharks fell to the Ducks 4-2. Prospal, Sykora, Carney, and Niedermayer scored for Anaheim. Cheechoo and Primeau scored for San Jose.
- Owen Nolan has a fractured vertebrae, may be out for the season. Then again, maybe he will not.
[Update] It turns out that he had three seperate injuries to his back: a fractured vertebrae, a bulging disc, and the late season cross check that resulted in a bruise last year. Hopefully, he has recovered fully.
- Toronto finished 3 exhibition games in Sweden and Finland as part of the NHL challenge. The Maple Leafs defeated Jokerit [Finland] 5-3, Djurgarden [Sweden] 9-2, and Farjestad [Sweden] 3-0.
- After attending camp and the rookie tournament in El Segundo, 5th round 2003 Sharks draft pick Patrick Ehelechner helped the Sudbury Wolves to a 2-1 pre-season victory, and a 4-0 shutout over the Erie Otters to start the season.
Patrick also has his own website ehelechner.com [thanks to victor chi for the link]. Very nice photo galleries.
- For all those aspiring young Irbe's, Moog's, or Khabibulin's out there, visit the doctor. The goalie doctor.
